UZ ABOUT US
UZ Events works nationally and internationally to create strategic, cultural events. Since its formation in 1994 UZ has developed a series of festivals and events that have made a considerable impact on the cultural landscape of Scotland.

The company developed and produced Glasgow’s Hogmanay, the Glasgow Art Fair, Big in Falkirk-Scotland’s National Street Art Festival and Glasgow and Aberdeen’s Millennium Celebrations.

UZ devised and delivered launch events for Glasgow’s Year as City of Architecture and Design 1999, the Glasgow Science Centre 2001, the opening of the Forth and Clyde Canal 2001 and co-produced (with Unique Events) the public celebrations for the opening of Scotland’s New Parliament.

In 2002 UZ developed and produced MusicWorks: The International Cross-Media Music Convention. In 2004 UZ secured a three year contract for The Merchant City Festival which was hugely successful in its first year, boding well for the future. Outside the UK, UZ has produced events in Porto, New York, Sydney, Delhi, and Johannesburg (Wrap the World 1999) and developed and produced Distilled, Live Scotland in New York, April 2002 and Tartan Day Celebrations in New York in 2004 and 2005.

UZ Events has won international recognition for its expertise in developing large scale events and culturally led strategic initiatives to promote economic regeneration, social inclusion and event led tourism. MD Neil Butler has been invited to speak and run workshops on these subjects at conferences in the UK, Ireland Sweden, Belgium, France and India.

Background
UZ was created as an independent Scottish Company by Directors from four companies the Zap Club and Zap Productions Brighton, Unique Events and Regular Music Edinburgh. The expertise of the four directors Robin Morley, Peter Irvine and Barry Wright under the leadership of MD Neil Butler has created a company with unique national and international credentials to deliver every aspect of strategic project development and event management.
